I'm Caleb Chalmers, a seasoned game and software developer currently based in Chicago Illinois. I've been tinkering with games and software from a young age, and have released award-winning mods and standalone apps for popular titles like Grand Theft Auto 5, Rust, and Starcraft 2 to name a few.
I've also had the privilege of working on cutting-edge software in medical tech with Level Ex, a company that uses the technology of cloud gaming to train medical professionals in innovative new ways.
Before that, I released my own indie game on Steam, Battle Squares, and worked on a number of mobile titles as a game and level designer.

At Level Ex, I worked on Virtual Technique Guides (VTGs), helping to design and implement features using Unity and C#. I worked in several cross-functional teams to improve internal tooling and workflows while shipping two commercial training experiences for medical professionals.

Bastion is a featured MMORPG mod for Grand Theft Auto V, the only one of its kind. This began as a personal development project in 2021 which grew into a large multiplayer community on the FiveM platform. The framework that enables this mod is written entirely by me using C#, Lua, and Javascript.
Today, I lead a team of 7 developers to maintain and update the only MMORPG game mode available for Grand Theft Auto 5, where I also plan, develop, and implement new features using my custom framework.
Sole developer of Battle Squares, a commercial turn-based strategy game released on Steam. Leveraged Unity 3D, C#, MySQL, and PlayFab to design and implement core gameplay features, user systems, and cloud services. Managed weekly playtests, transforming player feedback into iterative design improvements that refined the game through to its launch.
Rust Alerts was a modding project and app released in 2019 designed to provide players with mobile alerts for when their base is raided in-game. I developed both the script mod and the mobile companion app using C#, Firebase, PlayFab, and Unity.
The app's proof of concept was later adapted by the official Rust companion app (Rust+), a project I continued to support alongside Facepunch for modded Rust servers.
Battlegrounds is a Starcraft II mod using a custom asset pack built using Blizzard Entertainment's Galaxy editor. This game was a finalist in Blizzard's 2015 Rock the Cabinet competition and remains one of the highest rated strategy games on the Starcraft 2 arcade of all time.
For this project I worked on design, campaign writing, cinematics, progression systems, and UI.
